Eskmo has recently been welcomed on to the Littlebig UK agency! Littlebig was set up at the start of 2004 by Ned Beckett to offer a new style of agency service to the world's finest artists. Other artists at Littlebig are Alex Smoke, Aphex Twin and Autechre.
"In a world of mundane indie electronic acts, live performer Brendan Angelides stands out, and overseas musical heavyweights have taken notice. Respected U.K. labels Warp Records and Planet Mu have both released material by Angelides, who goes by the production and stage tag Eskmo. Local imprints like Surefire Sound and Full Melt have also embraced his innovative music, which pairs unusual percussive elements and colorful synths. "Lazer bass" would be a lazy description, since his music zigzags among multiple genres with rainbow sounds bouncing in unison. His live set at SXSW wowed rock crowds. Angelides has also collaborated on a new single with Ninja Tune's Amon Tobin, and had a track featured on CSI Miami. Throw on his polyrhythmic Hypercolor EP (Ancestor Media) and you'll know why wide swaths of S.F. dance-music enthusiasts gravitate to his fluid music."
Great to see local support and a well written review of Eskmo- watch out for more news!
Eskmo was recently interview for Scion A/V, who asked him about where his unique sounds came from and how he came to be. Did you know the first instrument Eskmo played was the bass?
The Love FestivalLas Vegas is a whole weekend of events featuring sounds from some of the world’s most in demand DJs on one of the biggest travel weekends in Las Vegas. Miguel will be performing at the Palms Pool on Sunday, May 30th 2010~
After a great event last year, The Love Festival set the bar even higher as they turn Sin City into the epicenter of dance music for one weekend. What started out as an underground party in 1992 has since grown into one of the largest and longest running electronic music festivals in the world, touring through cities including San Francisco, Phoenix, Honolulu and international hot spots such as Mazatlan and Tokyo.
Spring is always an exciting and energizing time for me. Most of my heavy travel schedule is behind me and summer is in front of me. Around me the garden and forest is growing and blooming like mad and the days are loooong. It is still light at almost 10pm now.
So saying, I usually end up working more and this year is no exception.
I have been in negotiations for Eskmo's debut album which has been exciting and challenging. I hope to be able to announce by next week the label we will be working with. The self-titled debut will be out this fall. Keep your ears pealed.
Miguel Migs is in the middle of recording his new album. So far we have Ladybug from Digable Planets, Meshell Ndegeocello, Freddie Macgregor, Aya, Tim Fuller, Sonny J Mason and Lisa Shaw. We are in discussions with Q Tip, Julian Marley, Georg Levin and Ledisi. It has been another exhilarating and at times frustrating journey. We hope the album will be finished by end of July.
Nickodemus is as busy as ever planning and booking the next Turntables on the Hudson series. He is about to go to South Africa for some World Cup gigs, tour Europe and has started recording his next album "Moon People".
Highlights this year so far have been an incredible SXSW experience, I renamed it Texan Burning Man as it was full of such wonderful characters, artists and random coincidences. Great place to do business - I will definitely be back next year.
WMC in Miami was a lot of fun, the weather cooperated, the Salted Music event was as usual a highlight, along with the Giant Step events, Groove Armada at the Om party and Nickodemus at the Straight No Chaser party.

[source] Coachella was the usual mad house, gorgeous location, beautiful people everywhere and too many acts that you wanted to check out. Jonsi (lead singer from Sigur Ros) was a highlight for me as was ESKMO and WELDER who played sets at The Do Lab. Check out the video below!
